The 2281 is a TRUE LS lifter unlike the 2148 lifter that GM calls LS7. See the attached photo comparison.
The LS 2281 lifter has a longer bearing surface & narrower oil band , specific to the LS . That should be your selling point. The 2148 that GM calls LS7 is the old vortec lifter for the LT .
Another thing about the 2281 is that a customer can use this lifter in a LS motor with a very high lift cam & not have to buy a tie-bar lifter because of the longer bearing surface that keeps the oil hole in the lifter bore.
